Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

I need some advice from the experts. I am new to breeding ameraucanas and I have a BBS flock. My black rooster has a white primary and one of my black pullets has white ticks on the end of her feathers. Are these traits undesirable? Should I remove them from the breeding pen?

What age are they? Not unusual to see white primaries in growing birds. They tend to color in or turn black when they reach maturity. Give it time if they aren't full grown.

What size eggs does everyone's birds lay? Mine have been giving me medium sized eggs at best. Is this normal for the breed?
Medium is normal but I am breeding for egg size and consistently get large and extra large from my blacks and especially my blues. Even a few jumbos ...

I was on the differences thread between EE's and Americaunas. I could kick myself because I sold a beautiful blue Americauna hen three years ago not knowing what she was. She looked just like the pictures posted here. Whether EE or Americauna, they have been my favorite layers and right now I have these three and hope you all can tell me for sure if they are EE's or Americaunas. They lay those mint green eggs (I call them) and I see from pictures you guys call them blue. And all this time I was wishing I had hens that laid real blue eggs!

Valentino, a gift on Valentine's day and he is very sweet and gentle. Not a good pic, reddish eye, no wattle, slate blue legs and the lower feathers look blue, but I don't know, I just wanted chicks to hatch.

Black pullet with black legs,(Pretty Chicken) and a rescue from a friend who trapped her out in the wild in winter. The wind was blowing so it looks like they have poofier beards and top hats. And my favorite hen Huevos. Slate/black legs, blue eggs, no wattles. I can get better pics if needed.

Is it normal for Lav chicks to have a bit of yellow fluff? Both roo and hen are nice Lavender color with no leakage.
The pic was taken on day 2 it is 5 days now and its muff has filled out nicely so far.

Here is a picture of mine when they were babies last year. The one in front was the male and the second one a female. The one in the back was a blue. These came from a well known breeder on ABC.

I think there is a little yellow on them.
