Hmm, it's weird because they have Easter eggers there too, they label them differently. they're all from townline hatchery, if that means anything. I'm curious now, it makes no real difference to me but I feel like looking into it so I'm gonna call the hatchery and rural king about it. I know the guy who does the orders. So they basically just lie about it? I don't know why it's not letting me quite people btw

Townline sells what they call the "Araucana Ameraucana-Strain" described as:

ETA - as to the "lie" - well, that depends on what level you are looking at. At the hatchery level, it is definitely misrepresentation/dishonesty to sell the chicks as one breed or the other with a little wink/nod "just don't read between the lines" description that does acknowledge we know darn well these aren't what we say they are --- at the store level, there is room for the argument of being taken just like the unsuspecting customers who come in and purchase the birds (after all, the hatchery labels the chicks, the store has every reason to believe they are being sold the product they order) or being a matter of willful ignorance/knowing better but not caring enough to bother using the correct terminology/labeling at their level.

It may just be that the breeds they use for 'Ameraucana' have better chance of laying blue/green and the EE's could lay white, pink, brown, green and anything in between...

I called Townline without actually looking at the website and the lady on the phone said that they do not cross breed them and that the breeder they get there is from claims not to crossbreed either but that meant nothing to me because I know nothing about any of this LOL. I honestly just picked her because she was the only chicken left and she was all by herself so I got a couple of Guineas to keep her company and that was the beginning of my chicken owning career. Are Easter Eggers known to be very skittish? She is a total spaz, bless her little heart. My camera is so full and I don't know what to do with all the photos or I would take a picture of her now. Is it the coloring difference that makes the distinction? When I have looked up photos of americanus and they looked like her to me but I never did bother looking up Easter Eggers. I also got two silver sebright chicks from the same place I couldn't believe they were just thrown in under assorted bantams LOL. Townline told me on the phone that they read their own sebrights, I was asking because I hear they are delicate, so far mine have been doing great and actually Rural king in general has a very low mortality rate for chicks outside of customer mishandling so maybe Townline score some points on that end at least.

I am on the fence on this Splash Ameraucana I have. The chicken in question is 16 weeks and was bought as 90% sure pullet. This chicken does not have a comb that is as red as the rooster I have with it had at that age and the known pullet has same size legs and feet. The rooster it is keep with does not fight with it or treats it different than the pullet in with them and has no sickle feathers.
Is Ellie an Elliot or just have higher testosterone levels?

Looking for some opinions on my 2 Ameraucana roos. I don't know which one to keep or if I should keep either of them. Sorry my pictures aren't better.

Just addressing your EE question about being spaz. Ameraucanas and EEs seem to be slower at maturing and the jittery skittery kooky spooky jumpiness is characteristic and sometimes they never grow out of it - one of the reasons they get injured so much because of their jumpiness. But they are generally non-combative and would rather flee than fight in flock politics. Great sentinels and guardians in the flock because of their predator-savvy alertness. They are generally kind to flockmates and accept orphaned chicks or new flockmates or injured birds without picking on them. No chicken really likes human touch but once held these birds allow petting and holding and coo to your conversations. Now I speak of the hens as I haven't had roos.

The blue has leakage which is a no no to use.
