Looking for some opinions on my 2 Ameraucana roos. I don't know which one to keep or if I should keep either of them. Sorry my pictures aren't better.

The blue has leakage which is a no no to use.

Is it leakage or just a poor photo shot? I had a hard time seeing even with the photo enlarged.

It's leakage...you see it in the wing..... those off colored feathers

Can anyone tell me if black Ameraucana chicks have light yellow bellies with a black stripe up the middle? The chicks I have hatched all have the yellowish bib but I wasn't sure if the belly color was an indicator as well?

I saw the pics on their website, they didn't show the bellies though. I was on the fence about them being black or brown red, just wanted some other opinions

Generally brown reds are all black with no white, but this is not 100% accurate in all cases.

They do seem to have the wrong color chick for their representation of brown/red. I was always told solid color for brown reds. I can see why it would lead to confusion.

pic. 1 blue one is in back! pic.2 lav with lighter shading in head little more yellow!

pic.3 Blue! then the lav! then the one in question! pic 4 the one in question! just slight darker then the lav in pic 2! Not dark like the blue!


Hi everyone! I am having a hard time telling lavender from blue! I am pretty sure two of my chicks hatched from bbs eggs and one from black split lavender.Two of the chicks look more lavender! Can the blue come out light and look more lavender? Then change later? They are three weeks old.
