Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

I saw the one yesterday you are talking about. Is the Lav the sire of the one you showed me a few months ago that was so bad?

Yep and yep... have a few more like that too... hers is the worst though, most of the ones I have been growing out aren't as leaky... think I have 1 right now not showing leakage, but I'll have to recheck once our mud clears up...

You know I'm not the one to give advice, but that looks worrisome to me. Is it showing up thrown from different hens?

It's worrying and frustrating me too! :barnie

I think so... and I don't believe it's the hens, I did at first but I checked back on all the black offspring they threw under a different cock and not a single one has leakage...

Seems like I remember someone telling me to cull a leaky boy...

Sorry for the dilemma.

Please, do not be sorry... it isn't your fault... I saw it cropping up in others too... I needed to know it was a problem so I can fix it...
I feel bad for the one you got...

All the leaky boys are getting culled... I'm just trying to figure out if he throws a cockerel w/out leakage if that'd be good to work with or not...

I've seen it!! :drool

I'm like Ravyn, I would want to know. Usually when my offspring leave the farm, that's the last I see of them. Knowing what they are throwing is a big help if you are trying to improve :thumbsup

Exactly... :)

So my Lav cock is throwing leakage on his black split sons... looking for advice on if I should try to get a non leaky BS cockerel out of him, or just replace him?

Any thoughts?

Sorry to hear that can you post pictures of your lavender cock and sons please for learning!
