Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

LOL! Oh my...now I'm going to be wearing surgical gloves when I handle that chick! It is true, in my experience, the most outgoing in a hatch usually wind up being male...so I'll have to keep your "gotcha" moment in mind!

I am afraid that my little chick is a rooster. Climbing up my arm and sitting on my shoulder is not a good sign! He's not in love with my neck yet!

Years ago - when I first started with chickens and had hatchery-bred RIRs, I had one of them that just loved me! He would sit in my lap, loved being petted, and liked to sit on my shoulders. One day - after coming in from a visit with all my feathered friends - I noticed one of my diamond stud earrings was missing! I just thought it had slipped out and we tore up the house looking for that earring.

Next day - he's sitting on the other shoulder and I felt this sharp pull - yep, there went the other diamond earring. Never did find them.

Just avert his attention if he tries any funny stuff! Just make sure he's not doing it under your nose! Lol!

That's crazy! Who would ever think that could happen? The little booger probably ate them! Lol! I bet you were sick over that one!

Nothing but the very best for Susan's birds! I'm so sorry! You were just starting out with birds when that happened?

He was high class, no "grit" for him.... he liked the bling. ;)

Absolutely! That's why he came back for seconds! Lol.
