My mistake. I thought I was looking at your photo. That one looks like an EE chick. If you look closely, you will see the difference in the pattern of the back.

I have a small flock of 10 week old birds. They are a EE's, OE's and a few true Ameraucanas. There are two that confuse me though. One person said the blue is pure and the white is half, but another person said the blue is half and the white is pure. Can you all give me your thoughts? Thank you.

Those are EE's but I believe #1 is a male, not female as other poster said.

Thank you for the ID help. Yes, that one is a boy. He started crowing sometime between 7 and 8 weeks old and I spotted iridescent cycle feathers starting to come in on his back

I need help picking two of my three cockerels to keep. I have two blue and one black; one I breed my self and two from another breeder. My goal is breeding to the SOP and showing.

First is Blue Berry. He is the one I bred from my BBS flock. My only concerns with him are his comb, his temperament (daddy had to go as he was very aggressive), and leakage as his dad had two gold feathers on his head.












Second is Fin. My only concern is his comb.








Last is little(ish) Hiccup, my only black (and favorite). My concern is his ear color. He has gotten redder but has a blueish white color to them.

The first one has the best build. I also like how distinct each of his rows of 'peas' are, and the comb is still fairly compact. #2 has a poor lacing compared to #1, his comb is bordering on being a cushion rather than a pea comb, and his tail set is too high. #3 has too low of a tailset, but that may change a bit as he matures and gains confidence.
