Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

Thanks for the advice. What exactly is wry tail?
I believe Artie was too close to the chicken wire and was pulled through headfirst, and then piece by piece

But I have since added plywood around the bottom to keep the coon from reaching through to the younger ones, and we've also got a live catch trap set out, which we will hand over to animal control if we catch him, but no luck so far. It shouldn't be a problem either way though anymore, hopefully.

Wry tail is a genetic defect where the tail is cocked to one side... it's a DQ for showing and breeding...

Good luck with the coon... personally, I've found a diet of lead to be the best solution, lol...

Lol, if I wasn't in town, that would be my go-to solution. Can't wait till we get our homestead ready to move to and I can shoot any varmints that dare tussle with my babies!!

The Ameraucana National Meet will be this Saturday in Lebanon, Indiana. If you can make it, you should make plans to be there. Over 200 Ameraucanas will be in competition and all 8 recognized varieties in both bantam and large fowl are entered. Bring a camera!
