Congrats! I am sooo jealous. Though today my girls were awful interested in my hay stack (like they were looking for a really good spot to make a hidden nest and hide eggs from me), and 1 squatted when I went to pick her up, so here's hopin'!

Well thats it! Stick a fork in me I AM DONE! My Brown Red Rooster has started attacking me again after weeks of working with him but not only is he attacking me now he is attacking the hens as well so he is DEAD! I tried, I guess he was just wired wrong. I am so upset, partly because he turned out to be a jerk but also because now I have to start over again! I have decided to leave the Brown Red variety behind for now (just feel like I have bad luck with them) and I am thinking of Blue Wheatens, but we will see. I have a friend that is going to take my 2 little hens with her so that is nice. My Speckled Sussex bantams are laying so I am going to hatch from them for a little while. I will keep you all posted.

They are usually so sweet. It is very sad he got the mean end of the genetics stick.
W/BW are dear. Maybe you can find some older ones so it isnt back to square egg?
Anyway, that really stinks.

I have had much better luck with bantams so I have been thinking about Buff Bantam Ameraucanas as well, so we will see. I would get more BRs but they are hard to come by and I feel a little unlucky with them at this point (this is batch #2 that has not worked out.).
