There are some beautiful birds on this thread, I think I may have to take a road trip up to Vermont to nab me a gorgeous rooster

I don't have any myself yet but am planning on adding some this year. I think I want a blue wheaton rooster and some blue and blue wheaton hens. I am assuming that chicks from the BW roo over BW pullets will all be BW??? What would the BW roo over B hen's be?? I am hoping to get eggs from show quality birds, anyone selling any of these colors sometime soon?

Awww! They are so cute!!!!! I've always wanted bantam Ameraucanas. I hope to own some one day. I've been wanting some for years. Are they standing on your car in the garage in this pic? LOL!!!! Reminds me of my black Ameraucana roo, Miles. When he free ranges he always goes to the garage to roost for the night. I know I can always find him on a piece of hubby's equipment or a rim of a bike when looking for him to tuck away in the coop for bedtime. Poor fella still thinks he lives in the garage and will be 2 yrs old this spring. LOL!!!!! He was kicked out of the garage ages ago.

ya they are they are still in quarentine in my garage and i just sat them on top of my saturn, in one picture you see my cousins carseat that i didnt mean to have that there im just really bad about bringing it in!

Are your blacks from John Blehm's line? If not, I might be interested in getting some hatching eggs from you. (Don't get me wrong, I love his birds, but that's what I already have!!)

my birds are mixed with Curtis Beck and Mike Gilbert as i take it from what i hear and my lav roo is mixed John Blehm

wow, I can't believe I actually read the whole thing... Beautiful pictures everyone and an informative thread.
I don't have any ameraucanas... unless you ask ideal hatchery, then I have 16 of them. I like the blue eggs but get those light brown ones and green ones mostly from my EE's... I may just have to try and snag some birds from WA way. Those blue wheaton roosters are stunning. If you need to unload some birds, let me know, I just want some nice blue egg genes.

I agree that kip calculator thing is confusing, i guess i should've paid more attention in genetics class.

Wow, I had a lot of catching up to do. Lots of beautiful Ameraucana pictures!

For the last week or so, I've been getting some small pullet eggs from the three Black/Lavender split pullets I hatched in May from Jean's eggs. The eggs are a very pretty blue, though not quite as blue as the eggs they hatched from, but I'm pleased. I'll be putting the girls in a breeding pen with the better of my 2 John Blehm Lavender boys in the next few weeks. I'm so excited!

They should produce some absolutely beautiful chicks!

oh how exciting are they banatm or LF?

On a side note my Black pullet started laying last week. and I think her sister should today maybe as she was just on the nest. My Black hen is gonna get a name soon as she is so very sweet and has taken to me enjoying being pet and held I am really liking her

They're large fowl. As you probably know, they were developed from bantams so most are still on the small side though. I do have a few larger B/L split pullets from John Blehm as well, but those aren't laying yet. They're a couple of months younger, but already larger in size, although Jean's are prettier. Hopefully I'll get the best qualities of both with the cross.

I get attached to the sweet ones also, so most of mine have names too. My 3 daughters also like naming them. It's harder to think of good ones now though, since I have so many!
