Hun as long as feed stores and hatcheries sell EE's as Ameraucanas people will be making this mistake. I did the same thing!!!

Oh these were given to me...I would be really ticked off if I had purchased them as Ameracauna's and found out different. I still love em.

I love my EE's too, but they are freeloaders. They stop laying for 6 months a year.

HELP,
I am going to buy some Ameraucana Blue chicks. I am having difficulty deciding on which breeder. I am after egg color and laying frequency.

My question is what variation in laying frequency is there between different lines????
Another way to put it:
What is the range of the # of eggs per year within the breed?

Help ASAP would be appreciated!!

OK, I am looking at Jerry De Smidt lines and then BYC's ahappychick's birds. I will need to find the sources for both lines.

I am toying with the idea of small scale commercial production of blue eggs. So color and laying frequency are important to me.
Any and all input would be appreciated.
