He;s got some gold "bleeding" thru on the neck. Does that come thru to the next generation?

I've been told that it does. From what I have seen- it shows up more in males.

Yes, it comes through to the offspring, and no, you don't want to use him for a serious breeding program..if they are just for your own enjoyment, then go for it! But I wouldn't plan on selling a bunch of his chicks and really "getting them out there" as it's not really doing anything beneficial for the breed or the variety.

And you are second on that list for eggs, right?

I have a question....there is a lady local that is selling (PURE) Ameraucana eggs I asked about them and was told that most of the eggs are olive green and some blue. She said she ordered them from cackle hatchery. My question is.....are they Ameraucana or EEs. I would love to get some pure Ameraucanas but don't want to pay a BIG price for EEs. Thanks for the help I am new to this breed and don't know a lot about them. You guys are the best, I know I can trust you!!!!!

I don't think there is any hatchery that sells true Ameraucanas .. and if the egg is green .. nope... EE

Congrats, Deb! We are hatching today too. I am going to send you a pic of the two SPECTACULAR babies from Dusty (your frizzie splash) and her gorgeous husband, Chuckie. They are at the gawky stage right now, but they sure stand out. They both appear to be splash. Can't get a photo right now, too busy watching babies hatch!
