Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

I would give anything to have the sun come out more this year....here it is middle of June and the warmest day we have had this year was 82 and that just happened on Saturday. We have had more rain longer this year than normal.....and being raised here in the rainy Pac Northwest you would think that I would be used to it......HA....no way! Bring on some sun!

Thanks! They have stolen my heart and fast became my special spoiled rotten little pets. They are very friendly and inquistive, especially the little roo. Oh my gosh the beards and muffs on these guys are out of control huge and fluffy. I just love them! Here is the little roo...I wouldn't trade him for anything! He is the sweetest one in the bunch.

Did you get those eggs from Halo?

I know he isn't to standard but MY HE IS BEAUTIFUL!

I think I'll be ordering some eggs from Halo just so I can get a couple of those 'white wheaten' beauties.

I really need to get a pic of the roo I hatched from Jean's eggs at New Years. His neck feathers are a tiny bit too yellow/straw colored and he is just a tad on the small side, but he is gorgeous. I should take a pic of him next to the SQ roo I bought from her. They are both gorgeous.

He is definitely cool looking!

I'm with flgardengirl - the oppressive heat and humidity here just make it miserable to be outside, and the a/c only takes the edge off when it's this hot. I'd be grateful if the heat index would just drop below 100!

Cynthia: The bird in the foreground, Mr. Chicken (gotta love 4-yr-old names

) is not much better, I'm afraid. Note the missing tail feathers, prompting some to ask if he is rumpless. Nope, just careless. At least they're growing back...

Actually no, he didn't come from Halo. Are you telling me that it's not unheard of for SW roos to pop out looking like this guy? Cool. That's good to know.
Yes, Yes, Yes, pictures of your roos, please!

Can anyone tell me what color this is? I just got 4 girls, 3 blues, didn't know if there is a special name for the coloring or not. I just love it and haven't seen any like it ever.
