Just printed and filled out the membership form. I will send it in probably at the end of the week. Maybe I can become a member in time to compete at the state meet next month.

You have silvers too?!! OK, it's time to take a trip to Washington! I know you said to wait until spring so I will. Is Easter time good? We have family in oregon so it wouldn't be a huge deal to pick up some babies then.

In April I should be going to Stevenson, it is near Portland.

That would be perfect! I'll PM you.

Haven't really spoken here in a while due to camera issues, but here's some shots of my boys. The girls are wet and looking nasty in our rain lately, so I'll show them later.

First, I have this weird mystery boy. Can ANYONE tell me what is going on here? I hatched him from a BBS Wheaten clutch of eggs I got from peachick, and at first when he began to feather out, I thought he was a splash wheaten pullet. He was mainly white, creamy wheaten, and had a tiny bit of "muddy" color on him. Then, as he grew up, he was surely a male and turned solid white, but with a creamy yellow touch in him. He for sure isn't Wheaten, nor Blue Wheaten, and Splash Wheatens should be white and red, not. . . white. What happened here? What is he? Can I even breed him? - Because sadly he's my only "wheaten" Ameraucana cockerel.

Second, this here is my black cockerel. I'd love some critique on him.

Third, a head shot of my blue. One of his sickle feathers has been eaten by a goat, and his saddle feathers have been a little ruffed up lately, plus it has been raining - So I didn't bother getting a whole body shot.

And last - Here's a fascinating one to me. This is a blue pullet, but she's so incredibly dark of a blue, she's nearly black.

Oh Illia- looks like you've had one of those anomalies pop up in the wheatens. There s a lot of discussin a while back, not sure were those mostly white birds are coming from.

I really like the others- especially the black

Good news! My last hatch of the year for b/bw is happening, very beautiful chicks popping out. I'm starting to be able to make some educated guesses on the first hatch, they are pushing four weeks, I'll get some updated picks to show. I'm happy so far.

Hmm, not finding any posts on the "white wheaten" issue.

Anyone else care to shed some light on the fluke "white wheatens" ? I know peachick, who I got my Wheatens from, had a random white, cleanfaced cockerel in her group, but from what I've heard, she removed him from the breeding. So, anyone know how or why it comes along, and is it still a "Wheaten" ?
