Here are my only pure Ameraucanas - hatched from eggs I got from Mahonri.
I believe this one is a Blue Wheaten.
I tried so hard to get a side view of my Wheaten pullet, but all she wants is attention - she and her girlfriends would not stay out from under my feet, no matter where I went (I had no food with me or even a suggestion of food - these girls love attention):
Finally, by holding my camera way out, a semi-side view:
Exactly.. the roo I bought from you! They are your grandchickies... I think you have Ameraucanas strewn all over the USA!!!!
I need to take a pic of a blue wheaten hen I hatched out of one of your eggs jean... She is SPECTACULAR! The prettiest one I have.
I'm not a judge, but I'd call her SQ
My son went to Germany with my camera and ruined my SD card.. so it's off to Costco or Target tomorrow for another one.
I need to mark her eggs somehow because I feel like I'll get some real SQ birds out of her and Geoffry!
Aaand I feel I still need to get a hang of what is conformationally good on hens and what isn't. I spend too much time thinking about the cocks and not the hens.
Oh, and since I don't have the SOP around - Anyone know how much, or if any at all, of black tipping is allowed on the hackles of a Wheaten/Blue Wheaten hen?
