If I had the room I like to work on a Silver Spangled version. You can see a bird similar but with a straight comb on page 15 of the Rare breed thread. Thuringian Bantam

blue laced gold would be more like the wyandottes gold laced blue would be the gold around a blue feather

I have a half blue ameraucana, half cream brabanter. he is Blue with yellowy cream lacing and golden blond hackle feathers. In all practicality, I should cull him, but he is sooooo pretty

BTW, what is "dun"

Dun is an allele that works a lot like blue, in which it goes Black, Dun, then Khaki - the splash form of blue.

Dun is a chocolate coloring, Khaki is a sort of splash version of chocolate.

The coloring you're seeing is the dilute cream from the Spitzhauben leaking past the normal "spangling" the bird is carrying. It isn't true lacing, just like the double laced patterning on an Easter Egger looks like what a Barnevelder may have, but genetically it is not.

I'd love to see a photo before you cull him.

So sorry, got the names mixed up.

The offspring don't carry crests because the Brabanter parent, regardless of sex, has a crest too small to pass on anything else. If it were a Polish, and crossed with an Ameraucana, it would give Brabanter sized crests. But if Brabanter sized, it would pass onto no crest.

So if I wanted to try for a Blue Brabanter, I'd need a polish to do it with? This is why I never got past those 4 squared gene things in school

Now, how about his sister. Same genes, but she looks just like a Blue Ameraucana with a streak of gold on her back. Can I breed it out? And who carries the blue egg color gene?
