I knew it would be hard to wait this long when I placed the order, but I'm sure glad I did. (After watching one of the recent auctions on here for eggs, I'm REALLY glad I did..... BTW CONGRATS Muggs!)

Oh, and I want to know where some of those GREAT smileys came from. All the free websites I went to didn't have any as nice as what I saw on your auction thread.

So when are these beautiful lavenders going to be accepted by the APA?
Edited for stupidity.

Nice! I've been quite impressed with my Shaffer lavs' egg color. They are much more blue than what they hatched from. A lot of work went into them before I got mine, and I'm so grateful for that!

Well let me say there is still issues with the lavender. Egg color needs improvement and there are still recessive genes popping up. That is why I recommend everyone to get some quality black stock to improve them. Breeding Lavender to lavender is wonderful and the color of the lavender improves but there are other qualities that also need attention to improve them and without quality blacks they may degenerate.

You can't "make" Lavender, but you can get more by breeding Lav x Lav, Split x Lav, or Lav x Split. (splits are black birds carrying a lavender gene but not showing it)
