We just finished hatching out 8 Wheaten chicks on Monday from 10 eggs that we set. The rooster is one we hatched from HappyMtn and the girls are some we purchased from a local breeder. My DS(5) was excited and kept counting the yellow babies since he decided the rooster was his bird

Hi everyone, I just hatched out 2 black ameraucanas so I thought I better start keeping track of this thread! It's great info, and I love all the pictures.
Does anyone know if there is any way to get an idea of sex from behavior with thes little beauties? I think I might have to wait til they either crow or lay an egg, but I thought I'd ask anyway...
Also, does anyone know if there is any good blue stock in the upper midwest, I'm just north of Minneapolis MN.

Its the same, Wheaten is the black, BW is blue, and splash is splash.

Although, with mine, its been my experience that I get more blue wheaten than anything else. Maybe I'm just lucky, don't know.
