Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

That's because they're among the 3 rarest colors of Ameraucanas. Silvers often have some fix-ups needed, such as in size and color, and Brown-Reds. . . Well. . . People make the excuse that their Black Copper Marans fit just fine with that color, so why have a brown-red?

If you look at the ABC Forum and look for the thread on the National Show from 2010, you'll see some breathtaking Silver girls and a few Brown-Reds too

I have Silvers. There are strides being made to make the comb smaller on the Silver roos...and their overall body size is on the small side. Out of ALL the Ameraucanas I have...Silvers are the flightiest! Just hatched another 3 Silver Ameraucanas this weekend. They'll be going to a friend's house soon.

The "chipmunk" looking chicks are the Silver Ameraucanas.

This is kind of funny, because I just thought this girl I have in my laying flock was some strange mix of colors. I know she may not be great quality, but is she silver? She lays a really pretty blue egg. Brighter than my white ameraucana Sally. This one is Pop (her sister has no muff and is Pip and she is Pop, but you would have to be a fan of Bear in The Big Blue House to get the reference). Pop just got done moulting, she is looking a bit rough, and it is super windy today, so please excuse the bad pictures.
