Well more eggs to hatch for us, Jean LOL! that means more lavender chicks and oh, those buffs, oh those white ones, ohhhhhhhhhhhh!

Got my new GQF incubator and hatcher today!!!! I just have them out of the boxes and set up ready to go.

Now I will clean and sanitize the hatching room before moving anything in. Then I will transfer over the eggs and clean & sanitize the old ones so they can go off to their new homes.

Pictures to come when they are all set up.

Oh, congratulations on that! I had a GQF, but I sold it to my sister when I moved, and I sure miss it and wish I had it back. No way is she going to part with it. We have both had great hatches with it. I didn't have the hatcher, but she found one on ebay for a very reasonable price, so she has been able to hatch chicks like crazy.

I STILL want some of those lavs! I have to wait, though. Gotta get my barn done...gotta get my barn done...gotta get my barn done!​

Well, I finally hatched out some new Ameraucana chicks!! What color are they, splash?? Whats your thoughts, a boy and a girl? lol

Black. Splash is yellow w/hints of blue.

Anybody ever have a wheaten or buff chick hatch with WHITE down? All of my other wheatens are that usual buttery color and the buffs range from khaki to buff, but I've got this one white chick. She hatched with splayed leg- so hoping she makes it

My Wheatens and Blue Wheatens hatch and are buttery yellows but some are much, much paler. Like a pastel lemon color, I've never had a white chick though. Is this chick from your birds or the Meredith eggs you had shipped?

It has to be Meredith eggs or at least his lines- none of the Blehm ones from Gabbard hatched.

It's such a cute, tame little thing! There are some real fatties in the bunch, btu I only got 13 out of 48 total to hatch. Or 13 out of 28 that made it to lockdown- why am I getting so many quitters? I've never had this problem til this year, btu I don't usually buy this many shipped eggs either.

On a bright note- I sent a dozen lav am eggs to the Canada border and they had 11 hatch - first time incubating!

Noo- that silver chick IS a buff! They hatch that way sometimes. I have some that are downright khaki, but they end up buff. Just one of those things. Don't put her in the EE pen! I must have missed your post earlier or I would have said something. Look at these from my hatch last month:

They all look identical now- even the leg color.

I even sent a picture of that chick to Wayne and he didn't recognize it as a buff!
