I've been dowloading on my husbands lap top and sending them to my hotmail. It's something with this computer, the lap top recognizes the card.....

Is the computer not recognizing the card at all or just the files on it? What operating system? How old is the card? How old is the computer?

Not recognizing the card at all. The card works on my husbands laptop; I don't know how old it is. The computer is one year old last month and is an HP.

I went to "My Computer" to check the set up of the drivers and it appears to be set up correctly......

I have a problem guys... I haven't been getting very many eggs for a while now and figured I have at least one egg eater... However, yesterday and today I did a field test where I put an egg in front of each chicken on the ground and watched their reactions. I have AT LEAST 2 Delawares and 1 Wyandotte that are pecking at the eggs trying to open them. AND they are teaching it to my Wheaten pullets... WHAT DO I DO? I have never come across having so many of them at once do this. They have organic layer pellets free fed and get a BIG scoop of BOSS every morning. I am at a loss... this sucks!

Get rid of the delawares. I had some as layers a few years ago and they did the same thing..... "OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!!!!!!!!"

You'll need to make sure and collect eggs often during the day to prevent it further.

Will the computer recognize any SD cards? Do you have another card you can try? The card may need to be "formatted" again in order for the new computer to see it but that will erase the photos you have on it. When you delete the photos, do you just delete them or do you re-format the card? (Depending on your camera, you should re-format the card in the camera everytime you delete if possible.) Any chance you could try getting the photos through the camera? Put the card back in the camera and connect the camera to the computer with a USB cable?

The computer will recognize a different card from another camera. It is a bigger one though, one of the older digital cameras and goes into a different slot.

I erase all photos after I download them. There is no usb port on the camera, it's an ELPH.

I've never had a Delaware eat an egg, not once, but I don't have hatchery Dels. I don't really think it's breed related, but hatcheries sure can breed bad strains of almost everything, especially in the temperament department.

When you check "My Computer" do you see the SD card listed as an additional drive ( E: )?

You should be able to directly connect the ELPH to your computer with a cable of some sort. I am not totally familiar with the Elph but the Canon cameras I have experience with also offer an option to format the card - which does a much better job than just deleting - and can sort out problems like you are experiencing. Check the Menu settings after you manage to save your pictures somewhere. "Deleting" leaves residue behind and can muddy up a card pretty quickly. It is quite possible reformatting the card will clean it up enough to satisfy the HP computer.
