x2 on keeping one for size. Also i now keep 2-4 cockerels back just in case. I learned valuable lesson this spring when my #2 silver cockerel got taken by hawk and my #1 had very low fertility. I will always keep at least 2 preferably 4 of every variety i have, a lot can happen between now and spring hatch.

I hear you there. I need to get me some more silkies. I really hope nothing happens this winter. It always seems like its the winter months that gets my birds.

What are the color of the Ameraucana legs? I looked on there breeders sight but didn't see listed the leg color.

Just so I know what I'm looking at Slate: is that the bluish looking color?

Yes. Varies from gray to a very showy blue color.
