I heard that you can get it on the kindle? So this is the new standards book from the APA?
Yes, I got mine directly from the APA. It is the 2010 version, which is the newest.

BE CAREFUL! Before I ordered I looked on places like Amazon. They have books listed that sound like they may be the same thing! Some even list a 2010 publishing date, but read the reviews and you will quickly discover that it is a reprint of a much older version.

She/he is very cute. They are my favorite peeps/chicks!!! My gut feeling says it might be a hen. It is a 50/50 chance

Thanks Heather. I guess it was a silly question in part seeing that they came from a breeder who shows continuously, so her lines of course have good muffs and beards [since the absence is a DQ'ing fault]. I was curious though about what you can tell with the chicks.

Waiting is less hard with these gorgeous Ameraucanas compared to the silkies! They're the true teenage vultures, LOL.

Here's a picture of my darker love bug. Don't you think she's adorable?? ;)

I have a burning question.... do I have a Blue Wheaten or Wheaten Roo.... I wanted a blue, but I am not sure that is what I got.

Keep in mind it is hard to get chickens to stay still with a red light scarring the daylights out of them.

I think you have a Wheaten Roo. Check out this link.

I keep thinking that he is wheaten, but the gray on him is throwing me off..... My blacks birds don't have gray, only my blues have gray... If he is blue he is VERY dark blue. I may have to wait and see what the chicks turn out to be. I have 2 wheaten and 1 blue wheaten pullets AND I know the blue ones egg color so I have them segregated to tag. I will find out if any of the chicks from the other 2 turn out blue, he is blue. Not really holding out hope for that.

On the flip side I LIKE him so he is not going anywhere.
