Ameraucana thread for posting pictures and discussing our birds

What should I be looking for in choosing a BWA roo? I have 5 roos to choose from. This one is the oldest at 8 months. The others are about 6 months. I'll try to get pics of them as soon as I get them out of the grow-out pen. Can you give me a critique of this roo? Thanks.

NICE!!!! even with the comb being generous

I just hatched 4 new bw/w Ameraucanas today! I have two left to hatch! They better hurry up before Sandy comes along and knocks the power out. I have my mom on stand-by to foster them (she is not thrilled about them coming to stay with her). She has a generator and I don't.

Lark Rise - Very nice boy! Where'd you get him?

Hope you guys don't get hit too badly. It probably wouldn't work long term, but I always stock up on the big "hot hands" when they go on sale. Have even used them to keep an incubator hot when power was out in the winter.

Just came in from gathering eggs and it seems one of my Ameraucana pullets left me her first egg. Never had one quite this small before, but it actually has good color. Hope she didn't hurt herself!:gig

We showed for our first time today, and our blue ameraucana roo won best in variety and best in breed, it was a lot of fun and tiring..........we didn't get to show our black roo due to molting but looking forward showing again.

I don't raise this variety. I must say he is extremely eye appealing!!! He looks like he is a large boy too! I know some people are saying they are having problems with size with their Wheatens. I hope I spelled it right, I can never remember! I hope his comb doesn't get to big. I love his blue beard..................
