Hi BYC

Its the black chick, her eyes are black as night, and her tail feathers curl up at the ends.
She came with the other Ameraucauna chicks, but looks nothing like them. I would appreciate any ideas put forth. Thanks all.

Easter Egger. All the other "Ameraucanas" in the photo are EEs also.

Here is my article on how to tell the difference. Click the image.

I can’t tell what the black one is in the photo you provided. If you would post a close-up of just this bird especially of her face and comb, also legs. This will help.😊

Sorry, I believe I misunderstood the bird we were identifying. I thought it was the black EE cockerel?

But yeah if it's the black beardless bird, more pics would help.

Hi, thanks for trying to help Identify my black chick, here’s a better picture. My others were sold to me as Ameraucauna. Some of them meet the criteria in your article some don’t. ie: green legs. The coloring is off because they aren’t bred for the color of the feathers rather egg color.

Agreed, these are all easter eggers, and not ameraucana. They don't follow any of the breed standards for ameraucana.
The black is a pullet.
In the orignal pic, the white next to her is a cockerel, and the one with his back to the camera next to the white is also a cockerel.

And that is why they are Easter Eggers and not Ameraucanas. Ameraucanas are bred to a SOP, so they have to be certain colors, have muffs and beards, a certain body type and not have green legs. They will always lay blue or light green eggs.
