One clever person had come up with using wet towels as a covering for chicken coops, to help filter the air.
Maybe this item could be used in window vents and possibly for the coops

I'm between one and two thousand miles from the fires but we still get the smoke. We've had clear skies for most of the last 10 days but with the haze, I've only seen blue sky twice.

I wonder how many coastal towns and cities will be forced to relocate. How expensive will that be? Towns in the Arctic around the world have already moved to higher ground.
