Trying to imagine this.... LOL I can't wait to hatch some myself. My pullets should start laying soon!I am noticing these little babies look (and act) like fluffy ping pong balls. They're a lot more "round" than my other babies, tend to be quieter and like to launch themselves into my hand or at the food/water containers more lol
ill try to get some videosTrying to imagine this.... LOL I can't wait to hatch some myself. My pullets should start laying soon!
Congratulations!looks like only 17 and one could possibly be blind or have some neurological issues. it starts crying if it gets too quiet and sometimes just starts spinning in a circle but seems to eat and drink just fine.
i have been doing vitamins but it hasn't helped. I'm leaning more towards the blind cause of the way she acts. If it's too quiet (as the others tend not to chirp alot) she starts crying until I or the others start talking and she never sees my hand coming and gets a bit panicky when I touch her till she realizes its me. An old blind duck of ours acted the same way with the circling as well but as long as shes willing to live i'm willing to fight with herCongratulations!
17 is great.
For the little one that is having difficulty, I'd start her on vitamin therapy right away to see if it makes a difference.
Give 400IU Vitamin E and 1/4 tablet B-Complex daily. For tiny chicks I've found the easiest way to do this is to dissolve the B-Complex into a very small amount of water. Draw it into a small syringe and then just give the chicks a few drops of the vitamin throughout the day, repeat daily. For E, you can prick the soft gel and draw out the liquid into your syringe.

I think I had a chick like that once. It was a runt called Walter that ran into walls and got lost often. I had to lead it back to the heat source every 30 mins because it would get lost and start screaming. He ended up drowning in a water dish that was barely 1cm deep somehow. I recommend putting marbles in the water bowl no matter how shallow it is.looks like only 17 and one could possibly be blind or have some neurological issues. it starts crying if it gets too quiet and sometimes just starts spinning in a circle but seems to eat and drink just fine.
already ahead of you on the water thing lolI think I had a chick like that once. It was a runt called Walter that ran into walls and got lost often. If you are heating the brooder using a heat lamp then that's probably safer for the neurologically damaged one.
