American(Buff, Blue, Lavander, etc.)goose thread! Post pics!

Pics
I received an Embden gosling in exchange for a drake with a friend of mine. Boris has adopted 2 different groups of goslings this year. One of the oldest goslings at the age of 5 weeks(now 10 weeks) acts as a mother to the 5 week old goslings who were a few days old when I got them. This was great. One big happy family. Except I finally got around to picking up the Embden(5 weeks old) and the goslings don't want it near them. I had to quarantine it first and now the other goslings want nothing to do with it. My motherly gosling Martha is trying to protect her brood while they try to chase it away. During the day I release it with the geese and at night I put it with the ducklings.

Oh well it will take some time. My 3 Toulouse are huge compared to the little Embden.

I guess my luck ran out.

They still keep their distance when we are outside but there's been no more "aggressive" sniffing/hissing as it were just that one time . They just look at them and watch them and every day they get closer and closer - all the while I talk to both saying things like " see the new babies aren't they cute girls ? Better be nice . " and such haha thanks for asking!

Funny...our ducklings love our three cats and our cats love the ducklings and the goslings, but the goslings do not care much for the kitties. The cats look at me like, "Why don't they like me, Maw?" We just got two buff babies from Aurora Springs that imprinted on us and our grey cat right away. They would be the first goslings that liked one of the cats. Our black and white cat lays in the big corral we have with the ducklings. Gotta post some pics over the weekend. Just been so busy. Your babies are precious. They look like our two over here.

Thanks! They are fun loving lil things .. They love everyone that will let them be near them pretty much - they seem confused about the ducks NOT wanting to play . and why i try and keep them from the ducks.. for their safety of course .. they like our dog even lol he's not too keen on them but he does get all worried when they make all sorts a noise . They follow me around the most and freak when they can't find me so I'd say they are imprinted to me the most but they are lil explorers and like to go play w my 5&4 yr old sons in their room to get into trouble - which my boyz find hilarious lol

I know, huh?  You want them to stay little, but you want them to get bigger.  I love them too!  No matter how old mine get.  They are still clowns!

They are clowns for sure hahah they have a funny sense of humor haha
Question for all ya geese pros!
I have brooded my chickens and imprinted ducks in a barn no problem . Then I got these babies they are 14 days tomorrow . I had them in a brooder in my house and let them run around w me during the day ... But I can't handle the poo everywhere and I mean EVERYWHERE . Anymore! Haha like WOW. Haha so I have a cage that I thought to put out side during the day - it'll get my ducks and chickens used to them too although for the 30 mins they were in it today they got som pecks from chickens idk how? Neways . Then at night I'd bring them back in or if it was colder or rainy if keep them in . They just whined and chirped and carried on non stop the whole time today ;( I felt soooo bad ... But what else should I do ? Help ? Any advice is helpful! Thanks!
