GAH!!!! Well I did not know this ! Thanks for the heads up! I def will! They are def grass cutters! It astonishes me how well they eat and " mow " the grass already and they are only 4 weeks old!

As they grow into adults tree bark is definitely on the menu, twigs, brushes! What ever beak can grab and taste if it is good they go around your yard like a garden salad bar!!!! I know we have these variegated willow bushes and we will be sitting on the sofa and the next thing is the bush is a rocking. Salad bar time!

They trim my forsythia, ate all my hosta's. Trim the berry bushes, eat the apples off the tree or jump and pull them off the trees! Hanna was even eating my japanese crimson lace leaf tree limbs and they are very expensive! For about a foot high tree it is $130.00. My pink weeping crabapple tree cost $135.00 and we lost that from the brats!!!

I had read about them eating fruit tress so before we fenced in more property I went ahead and fenced around the things I didn't want them to eat. but forgot about the forsythia bushes yep Missy girded all 3 of them last winter, They do like diversity when it comes to their salad bar.

Miss Lydia we can not work on anything without the nosey geese all come over to see just what we are doing and if we are doing it to their likings!!!!! Every time you go to work outside they have to see what you are up to. I believe if they could talk to us they would be saying you are doing that wrong try it this way......

I'm sure they would RURU.

well besides the trees - which i will fence off as soon as they are outside full time

right next to my house there is a "garden " and i quoted it cuz its the size of a football field haha . the chickens have just now found it so far they just walk around it - but the only thing producing is Kale and Radishes - both in the middle . the ducks have stepped in it a few feet but i saw them and called them out. itll soon be full of tomatoes ,strawberries, cucumber ,peppers, melon, watermelon........ the geese follow me everywhere soooo i try not to go in the garden when they are outside . they like the kale tho as do the ducks . thats why i grew it - for livestock - treats are expensive to buy all the time hahaha

anyways i think my only option is to fence it somehow and not with plastic fencing????? haha lil biters! they were just nipping me today and drew blood!

also do thier voices change about now??? ( 4 ish wks?) im noticing a lower meep meep or purr honk instead of a chirp chirp high meep trill baby thing that they have done since day one ... like what do THESE geese sound like ? i never thought of that honestly... not to be stupid i've never owned geese till these girls ... and my son said today " mom they arent ducks!
ep.gif
they are making a different baby noise!! come hear it!!!" ( he's 4)
