I am going to miss the little baby gosling days, but so enjoy watching her grow into a lovely goose.

I had ordered two fancy assorted geese from metzer along with a pair of sebatapols... I got two buffs woohoo :) so anything i need to know about this breed. Everything I have read says they are very calm and friendly . I currently have all four of my geese in with my call ducklings who shipped the same day till tomorrow when they get thier own brooding pen. I love how they let all the ducklings clime all over them but I suspect it wont be long before they is just way too much of a size difference .

It was my hens first year hatching, I set 5 eggs in the incubator early on in case she didnt sit. Only one egg successfully hatched. She then sat on 6 eggs herself, and all of them died before hatch. It is her first year, so im not surprised, it was also a very bad year for eggs. Only recently has it started to stay above freezing at night. At least we wound up with one gosling!

How adorable is that. Congrats!!! are you going to let your flock raise it?

Well after my 2 girls worked together to hatch 16 goslings I sold all but 5. Now one of the girls is laying again. Don't know if this because she did not sit the whole time or because the other female claimed the babies. We shall see what this brings.
