American Gamefowl

I just don’t think when it comes to roosters it can be summed up so cut and dry. Tons of variables on each persons yard. One guy can handle a family with no issues while the next guy can’t for a number of reasons.
True. Some people just shouldn't handle animals... It is interesting to read the tricks of the trade old timers developed for handling aggressive birds.

It is but it’s not a hard choice when you have two equal birds with one empty pen and one is a biter. Lol

I can deal with them being pen hateful once in hand a little bite or kick of the legs is ok once settled down and on a cord he shouldn't mind me to much especially aggressively. I'll give a bird a shot to work it out, but if they don't then who wants a bird more focused on you than another bird. That's just asking for trouble.

Theirs a 100 reasons as to why a bird isn't right in the head some of it you just can't explain they will be those and duds in any family that's why we cull and select if you don't you are only going backwards and have little to no standards. Some of it is people don't have patience and rush things that's never gonna work with every breed of fowl. They also think a bird that's been out of his pen 5 times in years shouldn't be aggressive? Bunch of nonsense handle your birds and you'll have far less issues the only time I don't touch a bird is in molt just make them happy and let them be unless they need doctoring for some reason or another during molt.

And if it's breeding time I always move the roosters not the hens and I do it at night.

Just because a bird is aggressive to another means absolutely nothing. I’ve had a laying hen damn near kill a salmon faverolle rooster. Means absolutely nothing.
I do understand that. It’s a different kind of aggression that I’m seeing. She will drop her wing and shuffle around the other hen. My Frizzle Bantam hen is pretty aggressive and I’m pretty certain she has no Game blood in her.
I have a mixed bantam hen who wing shuffles and pecks cats. She's as far from a game as possible; a serama x d'uccle. She and my d'uccle hen also beat up cockerels and the d'uccle tidbits like a rooster.
