American Gamefowl

Thanks. Im.gonna have some spangled Albany ina month. Can't wait to see what they look like after they hatch out an get some age on them
Sounds like you’re the man with a plan. I’m pretty excited for my mug over bamboo to set and hatch out. Stags from both lines are pretty good, hopefully the cross keeps the same

Do you get snow? Those pens look a little wide on top and with heavy wet snow they might collapse unless you have conduit running underneath for support?
Not enough to collapse them. The conduit idea works also. I just braced them with the 2x3 on the sides my area might see 4 or 5 inches of snow if we are lucky 😒

I plan on building some of the 4x8s but I'm planning on doing like havoc and doing the normal 4ft dome butted up to each other

Yeah it’s simple. 3- 2x4x8s per pen and only 1 cut for the ends. Zip tie the wire all along the conduit in the middle joining the wire.
during the warmer months all the stags are on tie outs with teepees had cages too close during october and my young hoskins yellow leg got his comb grabbed by a butcher. had to dub him a bit earlier then i like. we live and learn.

How close were the pens that he could grab another rooster through the wire? If I had my pens that close they’d kick the wire in their own pens.
