American Idol

James is my favorite right now too, closely followed by Casey. For the girls I like Pia and Thia (sounds like they should be twins!) but not as much as I like the guys. Scotty is from Garner which is 15 minutes or so from me. He's good but I don't think he's very versatile, and I'm not a country music fan, so I'm not voting for him. All these people around me are voting for him just because he's from here. I really wish AI was more about talent than popularity.

I like most of the guys.

1) Casey is my favorite, followed closely by James.
2) I like Paul - he is quirky and unique.
3) Scotty - While I'm not a fan of country music, I think Scotty is wonderful. I love that he sings COUNTRY music, not that stuff they call country music these days.
4) Stefano - I didn't like what he sang last night, but he has a gorgeous voice.
5) Jacob - I'm sorry, but I just don't like his style of singing. He needs to be in a southern gospel group - and I still can't understand a thing he says when he sings. In that song he sang last night with that screeching note that went on for five minutes - I had to mute the TV - nails down a blackboard??

The girls - all pretty dismal.

1) Ashton was horrendous.
2) Karen was atrocious.
3) Pia and Thia boring.
4) Lauren from a bad High School Musical.
5) Naimia, UGH.
6) Haley - zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I think they should just save us all the horror of what is to come with the girls and send them all home now.

Last night was a great show

I agree Casey is wonderful! I have to say for me its a tie between him and James. I am a fan of country music and so I love Scotty too. Last night I felt he engaged the audience more and loosened up a bit. The girls were just so-so. I like Lauren a lot but her performance last night was not near as good as some of her past ones. There is an awful lot of talent left up on that stage.

How many go home tonight?

haha I had to turn that one off for almost the same reason. But I love The Beatles. It was just that they sang those great songs so horribly.

I, too, like James Durbin. Did you know his father was a singer, but died when James was young? James has a "fantastic" range, just like Jacob, but Jacob gives me goosebumps when he sings. Every time!

It will be interesting to see who wins, evryone is so talented this year, it is unbelievable. My guess is that one of the guys will win, although some of the girls are very good.
I'm afraid Thia is going to go tonight.

I'm watching the show for the first time this year. WOW I love the talent! Glad I don't have to be the judges. My favorites are Scotty (love that deep country voice), Pia (she looks and sings like a star/pro already and has great range), and Jacob (besides his fantastic range and pitch perfect notes, his enthusiasm is magnetic...he makes me feel good just watching him). I like the others too, but I had to pick out my personal favorites. I hope they ALL get recording contracts!!!!!

P.S. this sure beats listening to the political news and bad-boy Sheen's ranting.

I agree with you on MOST of the girls. I really like Lauren, and you have Haley pegged all wrong. She can really sing too. Last night was not one of her better nights, BUT I think she is really good. The other girls, you can send them home. I don't see why they are going gaga over Pia. She's just OK in my book.
As far as the guys, Jacob didn't scream for 5 minutes, their songs aren't even that long. Paul has one of the most "beautiful" smiles I think I have ever seen, but as someone stated, this should be about talent, not personality or looks. I don't like Casey. Don't get me wrong, he's extremely talented, just don't care for him. Something like "fingernails on a blackboard " LOL. Scotty's very good for country, and I think he'll probably get a contract after this, but I don't think he'll win. There are others who are much more versatile than he. I think it will come done to James and Jacob for the guys.

Well, it was an exaggeration when I said that Jacob hit that screaming high note for 5 minutes (though it seemed like 5 minutes, and I really did mute my TV until he was done). I really like Jacob as a person - he seems so nice, sweet, humble, and just downright genuine - but I do not like to hear him sing - I don't like that style of music. As far as Haley - I agree she has a great voice and is very talented - but I don't like what she sings and she bores me to sleep - but she sure is a pretty little thing. I like different and unique and I don't see that in any of the girls this year.

I'm really looking forward to Adam Lambert tonight.
