American serama thread!

something like that.... if the chick is hatched frizzle its frizzle a sibling can hatch and be smooth .... the smooth chick doesnt carry the gene at all.... ya lol i almost got confused myself.

frizzle x frizzle makes a curly and that is a bad thing unless your prepared to care for it properly....curly carries double gene and all its offspring will be frizzles..... better not to do a curly unless you know what your getting into

so these serama girls are sitting on eggs, can they be left together to hatch them?

i did candle a few of them that are showing some growth, but i don't know how far along they are since they are new to me- the lady(upcdayz) i got them from added some of the eggs, so its gonna be a mystery

You're making me wish I had a broody!!! They are so cute when they are sitting....I have a feeling that my white polkadotted hen will go broody in springtime. My moving them back and forth from aviary to shed day and night is probably keeping them from sitting.

they should be fine but if all the eggs are at different stages of development then i would reccomend taking the chicks as they hatch, if you dont, they will eventually abandon the later staged eggs to tend to the chicks that hatch

Okay, I am sorry. I forgot. I deleted the babies' old photos from my uploads....just cuz I was there...so they are not on here any more. I forgot that delets them from the thread. Sorry. But, I was loading up photos I took today. I really stink at taking photos so be nice (RRF

They do not seem real impressed with me taking their photos. they kind of skooch down. When walking around they sure look better..tails up heads up. But again, what is the brown color called? He/she has some really pretty marking/penciling on the feathers. Very pretty.

Thank you for input.

Yes, they should be fine together.

Lol that's what I was thinking! It's hard finding people who sell Silkied Serama eggs. It's usually smooth and some frizzles and the occasional Silkied. I've been looking all over the place for Silkied eggs. And those girls are BEAUTIFUL
