American serama thread!

ChailiB how is your mottled project going this is my second year will mottled and I am starting to feel better as the type improve over the past year ...

My first hatch is 6 months old now, I have 1 offspring from one of my cockerels, but the two pullets are not laying yet. I have a lot of pullets that are not laying!!! Its a slow process. I just have to be patient. I think all 4 from my first hatch turned out pretty good. One of the boys has a fabulous tail, but the other has the higher lifted chest, which I like. At this point, I'm doing a lot of test breeding, to discover who my best pairs/breeders are before I decide on a focus.

All of my seramas are pretty wild. They were never handled as chicks. I want to be sure I only hatch what I can handle easily...

I feel the same way about them being tame. One of the only reason I keep some smooth Serama is because I love birds that can fly into my arms when I call them.

My poor little Tribbles fly about as well as a frog.

ok, Im back until my generator runs out of gas. 3 days no power. Now they say it will be mid week. At least I can get on BYC now. Lost 2 gqfs full of eggs and did put several racks by the fire and had them in my pockets too. I hatched at least 25 in my pockets in the last 3 days. Lost several 1 and 2 month old and a handful of chicks but we are warm, safe and dry. At least I had my blackberry so I could look on byc but on the new site couldnt reply. Here are a few pics of the last 3 days.
