American serama thread!

So my Second Chance Serama Eggs were mailed out of Louisiana yesterday morning around 9AM and I expected them to show up tomorrow here in California. I just happened to look at the tracking and there they are in Van Nuys, near my house! I tell my husband they should be delivered today, so we both go into action, I to the Post office to see if the package was there, he around the neighborhood looking for the post man!

Hubby got to them first as our postman was ill today otherwise he would have held them at the PO or (most likely) come to our house first thing with them, which is what he'd said he'd do. Anyways... it was a lovely day today, only in the high 70's when we found the eggs, so to make a long story shorter....

5 eggs look pretty good, 4 eggs have loose airsacks, and fingers crossed we have more luck with them this time around!! Yaaay! I'll be doing things a bit differently this time, they'll be sitting still for the first 3 days, then I'll start the rocking ;)

YAY! Positive hatching vibes coming your way!

I posted a request for photos of a really nice cage for some Seramas that I will be buying soon. Someone sent me a PM and when I tried to "open" the message, the message disappeared! If the person who sent me the message sees this, will you pleas try sending me another one? Here is what I posted weeks ago.

Quote: I got hospitalized shortly after the message disappeared and am just now able to finally build this cage.

Thanks
Ray

got an egg candling question- i put joe and josies eggs in the bator, so if you are getting ready to set eggs and see an airsac, small, does that mean they are fertile?

edited for spelling before my coffee was finished!!LOL!

I have a question. I just got into Seramas and have a pair and one Cockerel Im looking for a hen for.

My question is, can my rooster breed smaller chicks? Or will they all be his size? The cockerel (his son) is much smaller but it may be because he isnt full grown. What do you guys think? Thanks!

Sorry, artsyrobin, the only way to know for certain is to crack it open and look for that flattened bulls eye or wait a few days in the incubator until you see veins.

Tripp16, I keep hearing that Seramas can hatch all size birds, and even the egg size doesn't matter. But I have no personal experience with this....yet ;)
