American serama thread!

Cluck, i think it is possible, they get into a 'zone' and aren't real attentive at times- she'll get them back when they start pipping, i did that with my silky broody and she just settled right in with them-

finally got some pictures of my seramas, my family and co workers think i am crazy and way chicken obsessed just because I drove 4 hrs to pick them up!

So far, we are going to call the one roo Golding, a true midevil name that means 'son of the golden one" and it is true, got to see his parents. The two pullets, one is going to be called "Eowym" and no clue for the other,

I lost little Asteria today...she just never started eating or drinking. Autumn is doing great, getting big and getting her wingsie feathers in all over the place. Shame that I lost the whole clutch from Jerry S...I'll have to try again if he offers eggs for sale some other time. I DO however have eggs which will be coming from Laura (Castle Delights) the second week of November. ^..^ Promised myself I would not hatch more till spring, but now that I have the good set of thermometer and hygrometer, I'm going for it. :D

Oh gosh, Aschenfire, I'm so sorry! I wonder what was wrong (besides her foot) I guess sometimes there just isn't anything we can do

I thought for sure you could do it, but they must be so fragile when sick... just so sad, so sorry!

angelchix, your roo is really pretty and your hens are so elegant, as if they're ready for the academy awards in their fancy gowns

Well, the Seramas I was supposed to be getting I am now not getting. As sad as it makes me, I'm okay with it, really.

We were supposed to meet at a show, but I was late and she left. I have contacted her a few times to tell her I still want them. She never responded. Yesterday I saw them posted on CL for more than 2 times what I was going to pay for them. *Sigh* Not sure if they sere the same, but the pairs and their descriptions and their pics were all the same.

Charles is eating well now and it sounds like the mucus is starting to clear from his lungs, so he may be getting better.

maybe its for the best you didn't get them, if they are owned by someone who isn't reliable, there maybe other issues

have you tried denagard on charles? i find it will clear up things that other stuff wont

I originally own my first pair of seramas! Compared to my backyard flock these guys are so brave! The girl hasn't decided if she liked me yet though so she's staying in her cage haha

Thanks RachsRanch!

OH, that's such a bummer Sumatra, but maybe what artsyrobin said is right, maybe you're better off? I"m really glad Charles is feeling better!

Congratulations, kukupecpec! Give her some time and maybe treats, and maybe put her at a high enough level so she doesn't see you as swooping down from above. In time, I bet she'll get to know you and feel at home with you!

just had to share a couple pics- the first is ebony- she reminds me of the fancy dancers at powwows- just happened to to catch it as she fluffed up

the second she was looking for somewhere to lay her egg, she found a niche in the afghan

and the last is my Joe, came in from doing chores and he was waiting to be put away
