Both to look to be pet quality. If you don't intend to show or breed then it shouldn't matter. I'm sure they are wonderful and have sweet and loving dispositions. From the photos, there are a number of items that would have points deducted. If you want show quality or think you are interested in showing, take a look at the standard and study it before you invest money in show quality birds.

Yes my standards are hopefully coming tomorrow I am in 4-H I probably use them for that they are sweet birds so I will just keep them around Thanks for all the help

Anyone else have NYD hatchers early??

I have chicks out and 6 more pipping this morning. I guess they wanted to see the world in 2012 instead of waiting for 2013.

Awesome post some pics if you get the chance. My NN hen went broody yesterday but she only has 1egg under her maybe she will get more but I love the little babies.

Can anyone tell me what Color Twinkle may be. Look closely and you can see some reddish feathers on the back. Do Seramas change color as they grow? When can you tell what color will they be when grown?

Well, here is a bad picture(thru the window of my hatcher), but my early birds are working on the rest to come out and play. These are the tiniest chicks I have had yet too. and yet they can get a chorus going and overpower my TV.

5 are out so far and several of the others are showing cracks and lots of pecking going on. I guess they wanted 2012 on the birth certificate. The lead off chick(bottom-beside the question mark egg-that IS hatching now) is definitely a roo. But the teeny fresh one on the upper right, I am guessing pullet, and she will be unrelated to my birds or the other early hatchers as well.

I am glad to see tiny tails sticking up and when they stand, they are already more upright than my past chicks....maybe I am making headway on my "type"

The Standards can be downloaded from the ASA and the SCNA websites in addition to my own website.

Cute boy! I am not for sure what color he is....but mine went from very yellow at hatching, to this look, and now he is getting all sorts of white on his wings and back and tips of his feathers all over his chest. So, yes, I think they do change a lot until they get adult feathering. Uno is only a November hatch bird and he has changed almost weekly on me. He did come from a heavy Mille Fleur flock, I was told, so maybe that is where he is headed. And your little man isn't much different looking from him.
