Come to think of it, Sirius started trying to dominate the girls about two weeks ago, he tries to grab their necks and hold them. He hasn't figured out the next step yet though,

I took pictures of my newest pair just now. The frizzle one is definitely a boy, but I'm kinda holding out hope for the other one to be a girl, though I think it looks like a boy. He has wattles with color already also, LOL. So really, except for eternal hope, I have two boys! LOL

Yep, Cluck Cluck, that's a boy all right!

I've got 4 and NOBODY wants any of them. DH may be building more coops!

TOO FUNNY, these hormone enriched young'uns! HA HA HA HA lol
Tell me about it, I just cracked an egg open this morning from my leghorn pullet (who is 22 weeks old and laying for a little over a week) and it was fertile!!! Not amazing, but the only cockerels in there are 3 month old crevecoeurs who haven't even crowed yet! 14 weeks old, and they've inseminated her!
That baby looks more silkied to me, but time will tell with the feathering. They are cute as can be!

And yes, these guys are precocious! They crow early, and try everything else roosterish early... Big men in tiny bodies :D
The pictures never show the curl, it's weird. I think the flash and silkie feathers blow out any shading or something? But they're pretty curly, though for all I know silkie birds may have curly feathers as well??

Yah, I don't think I will try to breed them because I don't want more boys that I can't take care of. These are not meat birds or anything that one can just kill off without REALLY feeling awful! They're definitely pets, so sweet! I don't think I'll ever go there, I'm cured! LOL.

I agree. You'll be so lucky if he turns out just like her Silkied roo! He's gorgeous, and the coloring is looking the same?
Thank you, I think he is so pretty as is. Love him! And the other little one, I'm glad he's a boy, 'cause I don't think that prolapsed bum will bother him as a boy :)
My little roo was humping DH's hand the other night. It was hysterical because DH had no idea what was going on. Finally, he looked at me and said "what the heck is he doing?" you should have seen his face when I told him, priceless!

That's seriously hilarious!

Here is Toy Boy and Holly Berry as they are now at 7 weeks. Are their colors what they will be now or will they change? What color is Toy?

HI,
Have been following the thread forever...but decided to share today.
I am sooooo excited..........my little hen killer, (there is a story behind the name)has chicks due anytime.
Hatch date,21 days, is Thursday....I gave her grapes for a treat today .When she got up, i picked up an egg to check it.
It screamed at me .....I almost dropped it.was way louder than a chirp. Anyway, Killer reacted so I put it back.
Am expecting a hatch anytime.....Have not had chicks in a year or so and just wanted to share my excitment
with folks I know will undersand =) Thanks
Cute story, and yay for the babies being on their way!
Barely 11 weeks old and Toy Boy tried to do the nasty with Holly Berry this evening!
