My chicks are doing well but in the ugly stage...thought i would post how they are coming along






I can see Rooder in the first roo...he is gonna be awesome....the two hens are cool...the darkest one is very tiny. They are six weeks old.

awww I have sad news, my baby quit probably the 20th or so, fully formed but never started absorbing the yolk sac :,( oh well try try again.
Aww, so sorry! You MUST try again, they're so sweet and tiny when they hatch!

Oh how cute!!
One baby almost got shrink rapped. Got him out but he is still a bit crooked but trying to live. Got a 3rd one out with out trouble. 1st chick was picking on the weak one so bad I had to remove him to the brooder.
Glad you saved him! How many do you have left to hatch?

Mine are in the ugly stage now as well, LOL

I'm wondering why one of my boy's feathers are so frazzled, not in the good way, LOL. It's like the feathers have been rubbed the wrong way. Is this normal at 4 weeks of age?

I think you really need to look at the picture enlarged to really see it

Anyway, here are my boys today, a day older than 4 weeks :)




The little smooth boy is catching up to his hatching mate in size I think (hard to tell with all that fluff!) That's not a very good picture of my smooth boy, but you can see his coloring. I think he's so interesting looking! Love the colors. They're both huggy bunnies

I did it........

Meet Killer and her chicks...Not a great picture.I'm learning.It does not show thier size well..........
Maybe do better tomarrow....The first one is not as small as I first thought. Grew after she dried

They were about 5 months in this pic..............look much better now.............I will try to get pic's of them to show the difference.Good Grief.having so much fun now that I have figured the uploading out....I may be up all night posting pictures...LOL

also this week got my first egg from my frizzled mottled birchen cock over a blue pullet

Myles, the dominant cockerel in the group...he has lots of attitude




Blaise, the third cockerel in the group. This guy hatched out dark mahogany, and I love him so far...such a striking boy!

Anastasia, the smallest pullet, but the one with a TON of attitude :D




and Selene, the fluffy diva...
