American serama thread!

Well now the Americana can be serama related. My serama and the ameraucana are showing aggression. I took them. Oth out and held them. I let the serama peck her once so the ameraucana knows who's dominant. They are simalar in size. Should I just sneak the ameraucana in the roost at night? I had some succes with that. Oh an the ameraucana is still making a peep sound and not a cluck, if this helps. What do you guys think I should do? Oh and plus when the serama sees her the serama face turns really red.

Here are my two that hatched from BHep's eggs... Can't wait to sse what color they will turn out to be!

Happy Springtime!! Minion the Serama (one month old) and Splatt the bunny... Both of these guys are so much tinier than they look in this pic. Minion is about the size of a parakeet or so. Splatt almost fits in just one of my hands... My lil bitty studmuffins!!

Awww, too cute, and love the names also, LOL!
RIP.
Chainsaw died this morning saving his 6 ladies from a predator. He was a sweet tempered boy that courted the girls rather than running them down they all came to him willingly and ran to him when feeling threatened . He was a tame boy that followed me around the yard and befriended my dogs, sang like a songbird and allowed me to sleep in. I hope to hatch any eggs I find today. I just hope one of his hens gives his boy the beat down to teach him the right way to handle a flock.

Awww, poor dear :( I'm sorry you lost him, and hope you can hatch some of his eggs to find a new boy. What a good boy he was!
I just wanted to share my beautiful horses with you guys. Right now, they are giant muddy messes, but once they get a bath...

My beautiful Summer has blue eyes rimmed in black!

The chickens range with them. There, I made it chicken related!
Oh yah, that'd be a beauty! Congrats on such a lovely horse! Love her face/eyes/eye! LOL

So sweet! My two boys from Bhep are so adorable too, I now want to get more girls so they can be happier!

Cluck-cluck, thank you... I hope I have a pair instead of 2 boys or two girls... It would be a lot easier for me. Stormy, the one of the left, hatched from a frizzle egg so I'm really hoping he turns out a frizzle!

We got our four adult seramas today. They are a bit shy, since the previous owner had done nothing to socialize them, but pics soon. One question, though, the roos are much, much bigger than the hens. Almost twice as big. Is this normal? Maybe they just look bigger with those tails of theirs...

HI, I cannot speak for anyone else....but I like to have time to evauluate my breeding program.........
Also, to see what color they will be....
I am  protective..............not going to let someone have chicks that perhaps
is not   commited to the care they take...............
They are fragile............
Almost all of mine are raised with thier Mom......
I find Seramas very broody...........

I think most breeders want to wait to see what they turn out like before selling them. Makes sense. And yeah, I didn't want to sell my chicks to just anybody. I had one lady tell me that she wouldn't spend so much on chicks because they were young and likely wouldn't all survive. I didn't sell her ANY of my babies and none of them died. Geez! I know things happen and you lose some, but she sounded like she expected a good portion to not make it.

My almost three month olds are out enjoying the sunshine today. It's hard to take pics because they follow me! I guess they still think I'm their mama.

They will tame quickly. I'd weigh them if you want an accurate size. Looks can be deceiving.

So sorry about Chainsaw - he sounds like a hero roo and he had an absolutely beautiful face. You can see the kindness there. And Summer is a gorgeous horse! That photo of her eye could be made into prints to sell!
