Sorry about your chick. Poor little guy. Don't know if it's related, but there is also "stargazers" which causes them to twist their heads and fall over. I think it's helped with niacin (?). If the splint doesn't help, you might want to check into the stargazers as a possible problem.

its feet looks like whats causing the imbalance. chicks neck muscles are super strong so it might not be the neck causing the imbalance. i had a chick exactly like you. what i did was hand feed it baby bird food mix. he lived two weeks and then died. i wanted to see what was causing the crooked neck so i autopsied the neck. i found an extraordinary large piece of eggshell in his throat. it was lodged in so well i had to break it in half to retrieve it before i buried the little guy.... R.I.P Forrest Gump :(. if i let the chick eat solid food it would have died sooner. feel its neck and see if somethings lodged in there. i only felt the crooked neck when it was alive. the piece of shell i found was this big roughly. ( ) but not as round as this. i think when it was zipping a piece of shell went into his mouth ): ... good luck! :)

I need help please! I have eggs in the incubator, they are on days 3 and 4. I don't see any development though I did see the bulls eyes when I opened one of them. I had button quails in the incubator because I didn't have the brooder available yet. You you guys think all the poop they made is infecting the eggs? I cleaned the incubator with water and small amounts of soap... If it is the incubator... How to I clean it??? :( please help me!!!

Way to early yet to see anything. I usually candle on day 7-10 for the first candling.
I usually clean my incubators with a 3 parts water/1 part bleach solution and then rinse well.
