American serama thread!

Hi! I lost my house duck recently and it's left a hole in my heart. I have been thinking I might like a Serama as they are tinier than a muscovy & I am moving into a tiny home soon.
Is there anyone who may have or is expecting little Serama chicks in the Sacramento area?
Thanks!

I am sorry to hear about your loss! I have house chickens and can't imagine losing either of them.

I've found it is easier to get eggs than it is to get chick. My house serama is a great indoor bird, but I had to hatch him myself. He was the only chick I got out of 18 eggs... if you are dealing with shipped eggs, hatching too many is unlikely to be a problem.

Otherwise, I have found more success looking for local birds on facebook than I have on here. The serama community is larger by far, though splintered in to more groups. You might want to checl there!

My girls went for pictures with santa :)

well, i keep pairs in guinea pig cages or rabbit hutches, the space you have for them would be wonderful!

i keep seramas separate from larger birds - just too fragile

I have a serama hen she looks like she has a cold in her eyes she has bubbles in them on some days and a friend told me to put apple cider vinegar in her water and keep her eyes clean with warm clean whips what else can I do thanks
