American serama thread!

I got the new wafer I ordered for the Hovabator, however, the temp has been holding really steady for several days and it's full of Marans and Serama eggs (I couldn't chance waiting on the wafer, I had to get them in there and pray for the best!

So should I change the wafer, or keep monitoring the temp to see if it holds?
I would wait if you can as long as it is holding steady. If you have the mime to sit in front of it for hours to ensure it will not inadvertently cook the eggs you could attempt it. How long have the eggs been in there? If you have weeks to go then I would attempt it if you know the wafer is bad. better than getting up to hard boiled eggs. I have personally had this happen to me with Emu eggs. an expensive lesson for me. I know always use two wafers wired in series now to prevent cooking.

I set the eggs on the 7th, so only 3 days ago.

I was wondering if Seramas are usually brooded at a higher temperature. I bought two 3 week olds and they seem to be cold at 85 degrees so I raised the temp. to around 90. They still stay cuddled up under the heat lamp. I'm wondering if it may have something to do with the blood draw they had to be sold at a show or if it's just that these little ones need more heat?
