I was wondering if Seramas are usually brooded at a higher temperature. I bought two 3 week olds and they seem to be cold at 85 degrees so I raised the temp. to around 90. They still stay cuddled up under the heat lamp. I'm wondering if it may have something to do with the blood draw they had to be sold at a show or if it's just that these little ones need more heat?

Yes, they are much smaller so unable to retain heat like other breeds. I would go by their behavior. If they still seem cold at 90 then I would raise to 95. They shouldn't need warmer than that at 3 weeks old.

Thanks for the help I've adjusted their heat lamp. My husband keeps " putting things away" and he does not remember where he decided my camera belongs .lol. When I find it I'll post pics.

LOL, next place is the closet. I found 200 bucks one time ! My eggs are in the bator ! temp is good, humidity is great ! will know in a few days if they survived the long trip.

I got a fart egg from a Serama LOL. You think a normal Serama egg is small!

Tomorrow I'll take a pic of it next to a normal size egg from the same hen, and a ruler.

I haven't got any tiny eggs out of my serama just normal small eggs but my we (standard) laid a tiny egg a normal egg and a double yolker...

Excuse me while i rant... Stupid f**king postal service. two day shipping is two freaking day not whenever you feel like it. i was supposed to get two birds from OCSeramas today but nooooo they had to lose the **** things and take their sweet time i cant even get ahold of the main mail hub. they have no excuse. the weather is nice, no snow no nothing. this is the second freaking time the last time it was hatchery chicks. i also have seramas coming in later in the month and hatchery next month are they gonna do this then to? seriously get your **** together USPS e.e
