American serama thread!

This may sound stupid! I have two darling chicks! So sweet! I noticed they are starting to stand with there wings down and chest up. What age is it normal for them to start this? I read somewhere that you can train them as well? How long does it take or what should I look for in case ones a cockerel ? They look like twins no combs yet.

See how he pipped too low in the already too small air cell? The membrane was too wet, not nice and white like yours, and it dried into cement. He had bubbles in the pip too, around his beak. I tried to save him, but there was just too much going on. Yours looks great! Give him time. :)

I will, thanks! This helped me calm down a bit. I'll just check him when I get home from work. The roommate is off today & has been recruited to watch for trouble for me :)
I guess when I just have the one I was determined not to fail him if I could do something. I told myself I'd have a stronger chick if I did nothing... buuuuut when you're hearing it peep it's making me feel guilty if he's struggling.

I know what you mean. I keep saying I'm not helping anymore; hands off for me, and then... Well, you know...

Hi there Serama lovers! Do y'all know of any reputable breeders in the Southern California area? I'm in North Orange County and am looking to buy a pair for my dad since he'd like some as pets. Thanks!

I am in San Diego, but I think there are people closer to you. I'll see who I can find. There is also the Lake Elsinore meet up coming up and there will be Seramas there.

Thanks so much. I'd appreciate that. I don't know if I can go to the Elsinore meet up, but will try if I can't find and Seramas in meantime.

My serama pullet was found yesterday morning on her back in the coop. We brought her inside, and she was breathing heavily through her mouth. Then she just died. What happened? She was perfectly healthy the day before! It was so sudden.
