American serama thread!

Quote:
I once read that tigers in captivity will sometimes fail to mate. The story I read said that they solved the problem by adding another male to the mix. The thought of the competition got the original male to start mating.

You might try putting your reluctant romeo in a cage with his girl right next to a cage with a pair that is successfully breeding.
Nothing fires my roos up as much as seeing another male mating. Even roos that never fight will charge across the yard to knock a mating roo off of his hen... and then run away.

I was just going to say the same thing Ra!
And very true...seramas are any easy target for all Predators so make sure there pen is all kind of predator proof!

Thanks RA and Memphis, I will give that a shot.

Jess, they go inside at night unless I am totally sure of their pens! I have fed too many raccoons. They will be inside in the winter too when there are more daytime predators.

ruth- the predator comment was for one of the new eggs about the pros and cons, as I am sure most us of old, or should I say more mature, eggs have had so many issues with preadators. I also have fed too many predators seramas for lunch. We are starting to trap so hopefully I will be able to let them free range soon.

Some people don't feel right advertising their own stuff, so thought I would help out. Looks like nice variety of colors in his smooth birds.
