Thank you. Do you have any pics of your own.

No camera. My wife uses her cell phone and then e-mails the pictures so I can save to my desk top and then post the pictures. I have a great wife but some days... I guess I've been asking too much. Her cell is too small and my hands too large and inept for me to take pictures. I need to get something I can manage.

Avatar Frizzy ended up hatching three chicks. At the moment mom and chicks are in a tupperware container on the dining room table until the chicks get a few days old. From there they will go back to the coop/bird room. Frizzy is the lowest in the pecking order; even lower than the 8-9 week old "teenagers". I thought it best to give the new chicks some time so they will be able to help themselves a little by getting out of harm's way. None of my birds would intensionally hurt a chick, but newly hatched are fragile.

I was a bit alarmed today when I was handling the hen. She is nothing but feathers and bones; brooding has been hard on her. Made worse for a low ranking hen when the rest of the birds chase her away from the food. I may have to cage the new family away from the rest until I find a better solution. I'm considering having Frizzy as a house pet.

I'll post pictures when and if I can. Happy New Year!

Hope frizzy gets better! I think she would make a good house pet! Hopefully you can post pictures soon

I am sure she will gain weight fast with all the treats she is getting from my wife. Of course, she'd gain weight faster if she didn't give so much to the chicks.
I'm sure she will. But, she could not be giving any food to her chicks at all... can always be worse
