American serama thread!

It really is. i think i will probably wait 5 months, unless i have to many roos! then they have to go, cant have 5 more for 5 months

I doubt this. If the body type is way off at a younger age it is not going to change. A little; yes. A lot; I do not think so. I have two roosters and a couple of hens that are seven months old now. They did not look good at two months and they still don't. If anything they look worse. These birds should have been culled months ago and I am not going to use them as breeding stock. I plan on culling my new chicks as soon as I see they are not going to be the quality that I want.

At present I am using three birds for breeding and a couple more as foster hens.

Below is a picture of my frizzle hen with her new chicks. One does not show desired traits for serama, but I am going to wait to be sure; not 5 months.
