American serama thread!

I am curios, how old is your roo? AND I am assuming he is a serama??? Next question: how INBRED is your serama roo?
7 months-serama-the other question I can not answer as he came from eggs my wife bought me for my birthday. I have had larger roosters do similar things, but it was totally unexpected in a rooster so small.

What do you guys use as breeding pens?
I have just three serama I'm using for breeding. My trio share a room/coop with silkies, Japanese bantams, serama hens used for brooding, and a mutt hen. My serama rooster has no competition as my other roosters are kept in bachelor pads and the Japanese bantams are immature.

At 7 months old, them hormones are kicking in and he is testing the waters of "manhood". Doesn't matter how big or small the roo, if they get a sensory OVERLOAD from them hormones, everything is fair game ;)

Next time he does that you can "put him in his place" like another rooster would if he was being challenged. OR you can try carrying him around under yer arm and drown him in love. Gotta try different things to see what will/will not work with him...
Just being a teenage boy :weee

Day 18 is tomorrow i have 2 (maybe 3?) due to hatch and two more that are delayed due to staggered hatch. Will they hatch early? Anything i need to know about hatching them? Im nervous ive never had serama hatch via incubator

They will most likely not hatch on day 19, probably around day 21 like a normal chicken. Nothing special to know really, if you need help (assisting a chick or something) give us a holler

Ive always heard they will hatch early. I have to watch tge humidity since there's eggs that arent gonna hatch this time ive got it up around 70% right now though (thats about what its been all the way through though) ive never hatched like this in general normally i let broodies do it but my serama hen wants nothing to do with brooding (she also laid me another egg today)

Glad she is laying eggs. I was told that also, but found out that it normally didnt happen when I asked around. How do the air cells look? Did you have it at 70 percent humidity for the whole incubation,or just since lockdown started? when I hatched seramas they hatched on day 21
