American serama thread!

I have one who looks just like that!
I have 12 Seramas, but only have pics of 8, currently:

Mottled pullet

If y'all can tell me what colour this pullet is that would be great. I'll try and get some better pics of her tomorrow to show more colour

Salmon? cockerel

Here's the one I was talking about! I think she's a variant of mille fleur?

Black pullet, loosing white rapidly.

mottled pullet, gaining white rapidly.

creole pullet. Pic doesn't show most of her red.

Mille Fleur cockerel, just starting to get his white.
They are beautiful!! Love the color variation. I am thinking that pullet is some type of wheaton

Will have to take some pics of my little ones that just hatched.

I think that he looks pretty good, But he is a little bit long in the back and he could stand a little higher, the cockerel in my avvy is about 8 months as well, and his back is a lot shorter, I would keep him, until you get a nicer cockerel.

What you write are my thoughts. I think he should be rounder, broader in the chest also. And my other rooster is too big in front.

:love she is beautiful. I think she will turn out really nice

Thank you, but I am concerned about her size. Next to my other birds she seems a different specie in that she is so little. If she matures like her mother she could be laying eggs in a few weeks, that is, if she can lay eggs. I have read numerous posts saying these smaller birds can be infertile/sterile. I hope not. This pullet is the only chick I have kept so far. My rooster is so much larger that mating successfully seems questionable.

She might just end up being smaller and filling out later. My Seramas didn't lay until around 10months, one is a class A and the other class B. She will most likely lay when she is older and matures more. Right now she still looks like she is "growing"

It depend if you are breeding to the American serama standard or the traditional serama standard. I breed for things they both have in common, and I still breed them even if they have green legs. She looks small, how old is she? She might lay when she is older(what I think will happen) around a year old. Or not at all. It is kind of hard to guess

I hope you are right. I am seeing very little growth other than her plumage growing out. She is getting close to three months; the mother was laying eggs at four months.

I have a girl that I got at 3 months. Now she is 5 months and I saw drastic growth, not only in her plumage. And she was very small. I think she will grow in the coming months and lay an egg later in life.
